So, as the story goes...

You have to love banks, don't you? So on Saturday the 22nd of September I deposted a large amount of money into my checking account. The little ticket that I recieved said that the money would POST on Monday the 24th. So I went home and set up all kinds of bills to pay on Monday the 24th. (So I paid bills after I gave them my money....that is how you do it right?)

Well, yes the deposit did post on the 24th, as did all of the bills I paid - however POST does not mean available. Oh, no it doesn't (but they don't tell you that.) So here I am, over a week later, with $642 in overdraft fees.

See we had no idea we were racking up overdraft fees so we kept spending money - and thus getting more and more overdraft fees. Even last night, after I sat down with a banker, to check out my account - and he said everything was fine all caught up - I get a little call this morning that we have more overdraft fees $118! AHHHHH...

Needless to say I am in a battle with the bank and these unethical practices. I'm not a liar or a cheater - I don't spend money I don't have - we don't even use credit cards. I got angry at the bank lady this morning - I wasn't mean just pushy - but it was righteous anger. I won't be backing down on this one - until we get all of our money back. And even then I can't imagine keeping our money at that bank.

Whata bunch of crap-ola!

hey lady-
that is sucky. we had something similar a few months ago with our bank. I have never fought so hard or been so proud to be a bi*** after dealing with the idiots at our bank, which we are switching, once we can get the direct deposit thing changed.
Our situation...Bill gets paid once a month(which sucks) and I went to deposit his work check, cause the DD hadn't begun yet. On the desposit slip it said that funds would not be available for another 10 days. I asked why, because this was his paycheck and we needed to pay rent. The lady said sorry and directed me to someone else. Well, for the next 4 days I was in and out of the bank trying to release our funds so that we could pay our bills and rent. I ended up calling corporate and put up a hissy fit. It was crazy.
I'd be curious to know what bank you're dealing with. wouldn't be surprising to hear if they are the same.
In other news. I was actually rooting for the Vikes yesterday against Chicago. they barely pulled it out! So did the pack!!
